Was wie eine «Milchbüechli-Rechnung» anmutet, ist das Resultat einer äusserst erfreulichen Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Burgergemeinde Saas-Fee und den Schweizer Jugendherbergen – auf Neudeutsch Public-Private-Partnerschaft. Dieser Begriff taucht allzu oft nur in Projektstudien auf und viel zu selten in Zusammenhang mit fertigen Projekten. Erst recht nicht mit Projekten im Alpenraum.
Gemeinsam haben sie ein weltweit einmaliges Objekt geschaffen. Ein Objekt, das seit seiner Eröffnung rund um den Globus für Aufmerksamkeit gesorgt hat. Nicht nur die einheimische Bevölkerung nutzt es, sondern es bringt auch einen steten Strom neuer Gäste ins Dorf und ist sogar schon mit zwei namhaften Auszeichnungen geehrt worden.
Die im Projekt umgesetzten Innovationen sprechen für sich: Neben der neuartigen Kombination eines Hostels mit einem Wellness- und Fitnessangebot wurde hier in der Schweiz der erste fünfgeschossige Holzbau im Beherbergungsbereich realisiert. Less
